Boarding in Geelong
Driving on board Spirit of Tasmania via our Geelong terminal is a breeze – watch our boarding video to see for yourself. Happy sailing!
Driving on board
Driving your vehicle on board is easy and stress-free. Just head to Spirit of Tasmania Quay. Follow the signs to the “Passenger Vehicles” entrance and enter via the check in booths. (Check-in opens between 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours prior to departure and closes strictly 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time.)
Waiting to proceed
Drive towards the vehicle booth and wait to proceed. When the vehicle booth has opened, please present your e-ticket to receive your boarding pass. If you have lost or misplaced your e-ticket, please ensure you have a current driver’s licence on you for photo identification.
Security and quarantine
Once you’ve received your boarding pass, proceed for a routine security and quarantine inspection. Please note, fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, plant products, soil and a list of other items cannot be brought into Tasmania. Visit the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment website for further information.
Once you have completed the security and quarantine inspection, proceed to the marshalling yard.
Prepare and park
Once you have parked your vehicle in the marshalling yard, and if time permits prior to boarding, you are welcome to enter the terminal building and use the facilities available to you. This includes a terminal cafe, bathrooms, pet exercising yard and children’s play area. When required to return to your vehicle, a terminal announcement will sound advising you of this.
Parking procedures
When it is time to board, you will be directed to board via the bow entrance or up the sky bridge. Remember to put your handbrake on and place your vehicle in gear (manual) or park (automatic). There are five vehicle decks so once parked, we recommend that you take note of what deck you are on. There are parking reminder flyers available in every vehicle deck lift/stairwell to assist.
Secure your vehicle
You may take one carry-on bag or suitcase on board and leave the remainder of your luggage in your car. Your vehicle cannot be accessed during the voyage so please take medication and other personal items with you. The carry-on baggage allowance is one medium bag or suitcase with the maximum dimensions of 66cm x 46.5cm x 27.5cm. No weight restrictions apply.
Please view our contact us page if you have any further queries.
