Lucky Management Group Pty Ltd, operators of local Geelong business Bean & Base, has been awarded the contract to open a café inside Spirit of Tasmania’s new Geelong Terminal.
The café named ‘Anchors Rest Café’ will serve a range of freshly prepared items, including light breakfast, pastries, salads, sandwiches, soups, wraps, pies and sausage rolls, and beverages, including quality coffee and soft drinks, to Spirit of Tasmania passengers and visitors at the new terminal
Anchors Rest Café will open on Sunday 23 October in time for the official opening of the terminal and ready to welcome passengers arriving on the first sailing to Geelong.
Spirit of Tasmania’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Bernard Dwyer, said the Company was pleased to have a locally operated café in the new terminal.
“I’m confident that Anchors Rest Café will quickly become a firm favourite with our passengers and be a relaxing welcoming space for our passengers to enjoy while they wait to board.
Bean & Base (formerly Rippleside Café) has been serving brunch options and woodfired pizzas in Geelong since 2014.
Cafe owner, Lucky Thapliyal, said he was excited by the new opportunity and was committed to continuing to deliver quality service and delicious food to his ever growing customer base.
“As a local business we pride ourselves in showing off Geelong’s cuisine and creating delicious food and drinks from locally sourced produce. Our team at Anchors Rest Café is excited to start greeting passengers and sharing some of our local knowledge with visitors.”
Anchors Rest Café is located in Spirit of Tasmania Quay, 136 Corio Quay Road, North Geelong and will officially open on Sunday 23 October.
