Call for Expressions of Interest – local content

21 May 2021

TT-Line is seeking Expressions of Interest from Tasmanian/Australian based companies to be considered for the provision of local goods and services for the build and fit-out of the new Spirit of Tasmania vessels.

In April 2021, it was announced that the two new roll on/roll off vessels will feature up to $100 million of local content. The two new vessels will be built by Finnish shipbuilder Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) ready for delivery in 2023 and 2024.

Mr Bernard Dwyer, Chief Executive Officer, Spirit of Tasmania, said this was a great opportunity for companies based in Tasmania to be a part of this historic build.

“We are absolutely committed to ensuring that our high quality local content can be showcased and incorporated into this build. We are looking for a wide range of goods and services and I would encourage anyone who believes they can contribute in some way to the ship construction or fit-out to register an Expression of Interest.”

Mr Dwyer said the company had also advertised for a Tasmanian-based Procurement Manager – Projects to facilitate the procurement of Tasmanian materials and content for the new vessels.
