Spirit of Tasmania Docking and Maintenance Works

As part of our ongoing commitment to vessel maintenance and safe operations, we have two key docking periods approaching for Spirit of Tasmania I and II. These works are a vital component of our operational program to ensure our ships remain in optimal condition for both freight and passenger services.

Spirit I has departed for Singapore where it will undergo a 15-day dry dock at the Admiralty Yard in Sembawang, operated by shipyard specialists Seatrium. This facility was selected due to the unavailability of Garden Island’s dry dock (due to Navy requirements) and Seatrium’s strong track record in servicing RORO passenger and cruise vessels.

The vessel is expected to return on Tuesday, 6 August, after completing a range of engineering maintenance and upgrades, including:

• Cleaning and painting of the hull, topsides and superstructure.
• Thruster and propeller servicing.
• Sea valve maintenance and anode replacement.
• Maintenance of watertight doors and ramps.
• Auxiliary engine servicing.
• Thermal oil boiler repairs.
• Carpet repairs on Deck 9.

While most of the works are technical in nature, passengers will notice a visual refresh in the lifeboat bay areas.

Following Spirit I’s return, Spirit II is scheduled to enter wet dock on Tuesday, 6 August, returning to service on Sunday, 11 August.

Works will take place at Devonport Berth 4 West, with access maintained for approved staff and contractors.

Scheduled maintenance will include:

• Lifeboat davit servicing.
• Auxiliary machinery maintenance.
• Painting of the starboard superstructure.
• Carpet repairs on Deck 9.
• Watertight door and ramp maintenance.
