Amendment Fees

Amendment fees do not apply if the amendment is made via My Bookings. Bookings can be amended or cancelled online up to 3 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

 

The following amendment fees only apply when calling our Customer Contact Centre or visiting our Terminal Check-in Desk.

COVID-19 Special Conditions

In line with Public Health advice, and for the health and wellbeing of all passengers and staff in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, Spirit of Tasmania may close its on board facilities and/or restrictions may apply to certain accommodation types, including Day Tickets, Recliners, and/or Deluxe Cabins. Passengers may be required to book a Private Cabin located in a designated area of the vessel. Regardless of the fare type purchased (Flexi Fare, Spirit Fare, Red Hot Deal Fare), if you are required to amend your ticket to a Private Cabin you will need to do so at least 1 hour prior to your scheduled departure time. Cabin upgrades will be at your own expense. If there is no availability of Private Cabins, we will amend your booking to another suitable sailing. Online amendments and cancellations are available up to 3 hours prior to your scheduled departure time.

Other conditions which apply to Spirit of Tasmania fares are as follows:

  • 48 hour free cancellation period applies to new bookings made on or after 01 July 2019
  • Amendments are subject to availability
  • The ticket is valid for 12 months from the date of the original forward journey.
  • If the permitted amendment decreases the cost of the booking, the difference in cost will be refunded (where applicable).
  • If the permitted amendment increases the cost of the booking, the difference in cost is payable at the time of the amendment.
  • All references to 'departure' reflect the scheduled departure time.
  • Amendments must be confirmed up to 1 hour prior to the scheduled departure time.
  • If upgrading fare type, the original fare component retains the rules of the original fare.
  • Red Hot Deal fare cannot be amended to an alternate Red Hot Deal fare or a fare of lesser value.
  • Return bookings must be booked to depart from alternate ports.
  • Return bookings cannot be amended to create two one way bookings.
  • Bookings amended via the Customer Contact Centre and Terminal Service Desk incur an amendment fee.
  • Bookings made via the Customer Contact Centre and Reservations Counter incur a booking fee per person each way.
  • All fees are non-refundable.
  • For bookings made prior to 31 May 2022 for travel on/after 23 October 2022, the sailing route will automatically be updated from Melbourne-Devonport to Geelong-Devonport, and from Devonport-Melbourne to Devonport-Geelong. If you wish to cancel or amend your booking due to these changes, standard fare rules will apply.
